Come learn about the 25 year solar power contract that the Crescent City Harbor District has entered into with American Diversified Energy.
The solar power project that the Crescent City Harbor is working on will provide solar power for 25 years, powering the harbor master offices, facilities, maintenance yards, the boat docks, RV parks, restaurants, and future electric vehicle charging stations. This project will provide power to the Crescent City Harbor at a reduced rate, saving up to $1.2 million over the life of the contract.
Phases 1 and 2, consisting of roof mounted solar arrays and harborside solar carports, will begin in the summer on 2018.
Phases 3 and 4, consisting of additional roof mounted solar arrays and state-of-the-art electric vehicle chargers (powered by a solar carport,) will be finished by the end of 2019.
Not only will this project reduce the carbon footprint of the Crescent City Harbor, but it will also make it one of the most eco-friendly harbors in the U.S.
