4th of July Updates

We’re thrilled to have everyone here for the holiday and hope you enjoy everything our stunning coastline, vibrant harbor, and friendly community have to offer. Whether you’re here for the fresh ocean air, world-class fishing, or simply to relax by the water, we’re happy to welcome you. This year, the City of Crescent City, Del Norte County Sheriff's Office, and the Crescent City Harbor District have implemented a few important changes to improve your experience, including enhanced safety measures, increased security, and a new parking pass system within the Harbor. Please continue reading for more details on these updates to help make your visit smooth, safe, and enjoyable.

Improved Safety Measures

This Independence Day, the goal is to keep it safe in our community! The Del Norte County Sheriff's Office has worked hard to implement new ordinances in order to prevent fires, keep families safe, and protect our pets and beautiful wildlife from dangers.

This year there is a zero tolerance for illegal fireworks, and that includes the Crescent City Harbor District and beaches. Our harbor, adjacent wetlands, rocky shores, and proximity to the Redwood National and State Parks, make ours a biodiverse zone - one that we need to protect for our community, tourists, and fisherman alike.

The Crescent City Del Norte County Chamber of Commerce - and community donors who make it happen - offer our city a beautiful display of fireworks each year. For non-locals, tune in to BiCoastal Media KCFE 94.3FM, KPOD 97.9 FM, or KPOD 1240/106.7, for synchronized music to their patriotic display.

To report illegal fireworks on July 3rd or 4th, please call (707) 464-0854.

To turn in illegal fireworks with no penalty, please bring them to the Del Norte Sheriff's Office for safe disposal.
