"I have long been a believer in the idea that government is too important to leave it to someone else. I have been a Naval officer with shipboard experience; I have been a teacher and administrator in elementary and high schools and college. In addition, I have been in the moving industry as an owner- operator, moving van operator, salesman, and agency manager. I believe in community involvement and have been a long-time member of the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, and Elks. Economic development involves everybody."
